CEC releases CSC37 series USB OTG controller chip with dual interface

Chesen Electronics Corp (CEC) released a brand-new CSC37 series USB OTG controller chip. It  is able to integrate multiple peripheral storage interfaces and provides one or two USB OTG interfaces according to package pins. The CSC37 series is suitable for numerous core storage applications with embedded systems or synergistic controls.

The CSC37 series comprises of a built-in dual SD/MMC/MS series card interface with integrated NAND Flash, IDE hard disk and CF card and is the first OTG controller product that simultaneously supports reading and writing between two memory cards. With direct data access architecture, it allows fast data transfer among different storage devices. The controller can be used as a server to access external USB storage devices independently via the high-speed USB OTG interface, or as a PC peripheral when connecting with a computer. The built-in MP3 coder and ADPCM codec provide audio features for digital recording and music playback applications.

Depending on the supporting device and interface, CEC provides six USB OTG controller chip products in three categories: CSC28, CSC38, and CSC37. The controller chips are compatible with each other in codes based on the OXDK (OTG eXpress Development Kit) platform and OPAL (OXDK Programmable Architecture Library) library, providing customers with full flexibility in design and development and substantially reducing labor costs for subsequent upgrades.
